2023 Iowa Hunger Summit
The 17th annual Iowa Hunger Summit welcomed 300 food security champions from across
Iowa, including a proportion of participants attended virtually from across Iowa and the world. The 2023 theme, Paths to Zero, highlighted Iowa’s commitments to achieving food security and the path forward to zero hunger.
Those assembled witnessed major funding announcements, candid discussions about corporate and government leadership, innovative ideas designed to re-animate rural economies and a conversation with Iowa’s public university presidents. Governor Kim Reynolds and Ambassador Branstad presented the Iowa SHARES Award to Dr. Simon Estes for his profound humanitarian commitment to creating "peace through music" and elevating the voices of impoverished youth globally and in Iowa.
