2010 Iowa Hunger Summit
The Fourth Annual Iowa Hunger Summit took place on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The “Hunger Luncheon” featured a keynote address by Ambassador Tony Hall, director of the Alliance to End Hunger. The Iowa Hunger Summit also included various panel discussions and breakout sessions.

The World Food Prize presents the “Hunger Luncheon,” featuring meals used by Iowa-based organizations in food assistance and hunger-relief efforts.

The afternoon was devoted to breakout sessions and interactive workshops sponsored by groups including Bread for the World, Des Moines Area Religious Council, Foods Resource Bank, the Iowa Food Bank Association, and ONE.
RESULTS FROM THE 2010 IOWA HUNGER SUMMIT:
- Nearly $9.38 MILLION was donated.
- Over 18.6 MILLION pounds of food were distributed.
- 540,000 HOURS were volunteered.
