2020 Speaker | Samia Hamdan

Samia Hamdan, MPH, RDN is a Branch Chief over the School Meal Programs and Food Distribution Programs with the USDA FNS Midwest Regional Office. The region serves 23 Indian Tribal Organizations and seven state agencies. Prior to this, she served as a Senior Nutritionist for 14 years at FNS where she led nutrition training and technical assistance for the Child Nutrition Programs and the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations. Samia also served as Acting Senior Technical Advisor in the FNS Office of Community Food Systems, and has worked at the School Nutrition Association in the Washington DC area. Samia has served as Chair of the Public Health and Community Nutrition Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Samia is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and has a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and undergraduate degrees in Agricultural Journalism and Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
