Description: The Healthiest State Initiative aims to become the healthiest state in the nation by improving the physical, social and emotional well-being of Iowans. Values Creating awareness of challenge to make Iowa the healthiest state in the nation Connecting the needs of Iowans with resources to achieve the goal Improving the health of Iowans and the communities in which they live Goals Increase the number of Iowans living an active and healthy lifestyle Increase Iowans' emotional well-being Decrease the number of Iowans who use tobacco The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative is the lead organization for Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB). Double Up Food Bucks makes it easier for low-income Iowans to eat fresh fruits and vegetables while supporting family farmers and growing local economies. DUFB gives SNAP shoppers FREE Double Up Bucks, as a 1:1 match on all SNAP dollars spent, up to $10 per day.
