Meal Packaging Event

The Foundation welcomed numerous volunteers to package meals for Iowa families on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, as the kickoff to the 20th annual Iowa Hunger Summit. Volunteering took place in one-hour shifts between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Norman E. Borlaug Hall of Laureates in Des Moines. In partnership with The Outreach Program, volunteers packaged more than 40,000 meals for fellow Iowans. This hands-on event was part of the larger Iowa Hunger Summit, which took place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and included inspiring speakers, interactive exhibits and engaging panel discussions.
