Description: The Food Bank of Siouxland was founded in 1991 to serve community charities with programs to nourish the food insecure, the elderly, and children. Today the organization's mission is to lead Siouxland in the fight against hunger. Nutritious food is provided to a network of 100 agencies, as well as via several programs dedicated to feeding the hungry. How to Help: Iowans can support the Food Bank of Siouxland through volunteering or through donations of money or food. Volunteers are especially needed to organize fundraisers and food drives. Fundraisers are especially significant because the Food Bank of Siouxland is able to leverage every dollar donated into 5 meals worth of food. Food drives are also a source of significant support. People who are interested in volunteering should call 712-255-9741, email info@siouxlandfoodbank.org or visit their website to get started. Click here to flag this profile as needing attention. |
