Church Women United is a racially, culturally and theologically inclusive ecumenical Christian women's movement, celebrating unity in diversity and working for a world of peace and justice. The Des Moines area local unit meets monthly and has about 55 women from over 27 different churches attending. Their meetings are held in a local church for lunch and a program of Bible study, worship and celebration, and action on women’s and children’s social justice issues.

How to Help:

Church Women United has several hands-on local projects supported by their time, gifts and service. In Iowa there are 35 county/local units of Church Women United geographically spaced around the state. Interested Christian women in Des Moines should contact Ms. Sandy Fleck to get involved.
