Mike Miller
President & Chief Executive Officer, River Bend Foodbank

Mike is the President & CEO of River Bend Foodbank in the Quad Cities. He has been in food banking since 2008, as the COO of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana and Vice President of Operations of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank prior to assuming his current role in 2015. Mike also serves on the National Council of Feeding America, the national network of food banks, and was appointed by the Governor to the Illinois Commission to End Hunger, where he chairs the Emergency Food Systems Work Group. He is the Chair of the Iowa Food Bank Association, a Board Member of Feeding Illinois, and has previously served on the boards of Feeding Indiana’s Hungry and the Quad Cities Student Hunger Drive and Food Rescue Partnership.

 

Mike’s background is engineering and business, with degrees in computer and electrical engineering and an MBA from Purdue University. He worked 15 years in manufacturing in the pharmaceutical, wire and cable, and food industries, then served as a church administrator prior to becoming a food banker.

RIVER BEND FOODBANK

River Bend Foodbank is the largest hunger relief organization in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities, having distributed over 17 million meals in FY 18/19 to hungry people throughout its 23-county service area. Its mission is to lead the community-wide effort to end hunger in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. This is achieved through food distribution in partnership with 300 partner agencies as well as through Mobile Food Pantries, Senior Pantries, School Pantries, and the Backpack Program.
