Executive Director, Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc.

Linda Scheid has lived in the Siouxland community for over thirty years.  She is a Minnesota native and a graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN.  Linda started her professional life as an English and Theatre teacher, which was followed by a number of years in the Human Resources field, including the City of Sioux City.  She then launched her own Mary Kay business while home raising children.  After several years at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center, she became the director of the Food Bank of Siouxland in April of 2006.

As part of her work at the Food Bank of Siouxland, Linda has been involved with local organizations such as the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and worked with a variety of groups dedicated to fighting hunger, including the Siouxland Food Policy Council, Voices for Food, the Iowa Food Bank Association and the Iowa Hunger Coalition.  

Linda is married to her husband Bruce, who is a retired news reporter from NBC affiliate KTIV, and also a retired Major from the 185th Air Guard.  They have two adult sons, one an immunologist and the other a jazz musician. They are also now proud to have a grandson in their family!

FOOD BANK OF SIOUXLAND
The Food Bank of Siouxland is a nonprofit organization dedicated to leading Siouxland in the fight against hunger.  The Food Bank of Siouxland distributed over 2.5 million pounds of food in the recently completed FY 2019, which represents the biggest year in the history of the organization!  Founded in 1991, the Food Bank now works with over 100 member agencies in 11 Siouxland counties, and is also home of the BackPack Program: Food for Kids, the Mobile Pantry Program: Food to You, and the Mobile School Pantry Program: Food for Families.  The Food Bank of Siouxland is a Partner Distribution Organization of Feeding America, and is a member of both the Iowa Food Bank Association and the Iowa Hunger Coalition.
