Description: We provide vouchers to people in Story County, Iowa who have an emergency need for food. These vouchers can be used, like cash, in Story County grocery stores. We also provide information about free food resources in the area, encouraging people to use those resources to regularly fill their household's need for food. How to Help: We are always grateful for funds to support our work. We pay vendors directly for rent, utilities, food and gasoline voucher redemption, and phone cards. We are supported by faith communities, service organization, a United Way grant, and individual donors. We gave out $250,000 in assistance in FY 2020-21. We have very low overhead - about 15% - and can deliver assistance quickly. We are known well by our clients and vendors because of our 24 years of continual service to Story County.
