Description:

United Way of Central Iowa supports programs under Essential Needs, which helps central Iowans access basic needs such as food and housing as the foundation to improve in education, income, and health. Its Health priority work also focuses on increasing access to healthy food. In 2017, 10,911 pounds of food and vegetables went to central Iowa pantries from corporate giving gardens and 104,475 meals and food items were served or distributed to individuals/families through United Way-supported pantries and shelter services.
