Description: The Salvation Army in Story County operates a Food Pantry and the Doing The Most Good Market, open to Story County residents. They are a “Consumer Choice” Pantry, which means their guests can choose food items preferred by their family. Their Food Pantry guest hours are 1:00pm - 3:00pm Monday-Thursday. They can also see people by appointment if their standard hours are not convenient. Appointments can be made by calling 515-233-3567 and speaking with the Service Center Administrator, Cari McPartland. Canned, bagged and boxed food items, frozen meat and eggs (when available) are offered. Their Doing The Most Good Market offers refrigerated items such as dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.), bread/pastries and produce including fruits and vegetables. Guests can use the DMG Market twice weekly as follows: Monday – Thursday: 1:00pm – 3:00pm (Guests can visit 1 time) The Salvation Army in Story County is an affiliate of the Salvation Army in Des Moines. How to Help: Individuals and groups can support the work of the Salvation Army through donations of funds and food or by volunteering.
