Organizations Fighting Hunger
Quad Cities CROP Hunger Walk
Description: Now in its 50th year, the Quad Cities CROP Hunger Walk is a community-wide event sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local volunteers to raise funds to end hunger. CROP Hunger Walks help to support the overall ministry of Church World Service, especially grassroots, hunger-fighting development efforts around the world. They also hold a peanut butter & jelly food drive before their Walk each year. To date they've collected over 400 jars and have distributed them to food pantries throughout the Quad Cities. In addition, each local CROP Hunger Walk in Iowa returns 25 percent of the funds it raises to hunger-fighting programs in its own community. How to Help: Individuals and organizations can support the work of the Quad Cities CROP Hunger Walk through volunteering to help organize the walk, fundraising and participating in the walk.
