Description: Members and friends of Second Reformed Church in Pella put their faith into action in tangible ways building, feeding, and teaching, both in Iowa and around the world. Their efforts to end hunger locally include: hosting a daily free summer sack lunch program in Pella, monthly food drives for the Pella Food Shelf, working in a community garden which provides produce for the Pella Food Shelf, and administering FoodShare, a food distribution outreach in communities in rural southern Marion County. Their efforts to end global hunger include: providing volunteers for meal packaging through Meals from the Heartland, volunteering with the Pella CROP WALK for Hunger to promote awareness for rural development in 3rd world countries as well as raising money for Church World Service and their efforts in those countries, and annual mission trips Cayma, Haiti to work with United Christians International. How to Help: Those interested in exploring partnerships with or supporting the mission work of Second Reformed Church in Pella should contact them directly. One of the most important ways to help is by spreading the word about the free summer lunch programs and Saturday end-of-month free breakfasts to people throughout Marion County.
