Organizations Fighting Hunger

Description:

The Growing Hope Foundation reduces hunger and poverty through the development of farmland in developing countries and training programs to train farmers in those countries how to farm effectively. The end goal is for communities in developing nations to be able to become more self-sustaining by learning how to make the land productive. Crops to be raised will not only provide food, but will also be marketed to provide income. They also support a variety of nonprofit organizations.

How to Help:

Iowans can support the activities of the Growing Hope Foundation by donating to their programs through their website. The Growing Hope Foundation will most likely be soliciting volunteers in the future to go to the places in which they are working with farmers and communities in the development and training process. Volunteers would be helping to train and providing support by laboring alongside the farmers of the community.
