Description: The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVDP) in Waterloo is made up of volunteers whose work includes providing emergency 3-5 day supplies of nonperishable food items to those in need. In the last year alone the volunteers of SVDP provided over $156,000 in direct financial aid to keep families in their homes with the lights on, distributed over $125,000 in clothing, furniture and household necessities and distributed 175,000 food items to those in need locally. All of their services are provided at no cost to the client. How to Help: Iowans can help by donating nonperishable food items or funds to the work of the St. Vincent de Paul volunteers.
