Yolanda has a strong passion for supporting families and promoting wellness. Her personal experience as a participant in the Iowa WIC program for seven years had a lasting impact, inspiring her to give back to her community. Today, she serves as a breastfeeding peer counselor with the WIC program, providing guidance and encouragement to mothers as they navigate their own breastfeeding journeys.
Yolanda Pina was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, where she currently lives with her husband and three children. In her free time, Yolanda enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family. A proud graduate of East High School in Des Moines, she attended college for two years before pausing her studies to focus on family. She is now preparing to resume her education with a focus on health and nutrition.
