Jared DeVries

Owner, Brothers Market

Jared DeVries grew up on a small farm in Aplington, IA. He and two of his brothers (Jay and Darian) are the owners of Brothers Market. Jared had an illustrious football career for the Iowa Hawkeyes and was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1999. In 2008, while playing for Detroit, a tornado demolished their local grocery store in Parkersburg, IA, just 6 miles away from their home. With the current owners opting to close the store, Jared and his brothers knew how important it was to have a local grocery store to provide for their community, so they decided to rebuild under the Brothers Market name. From there it continued to grow to what is now 16 locations serving small communities with quality food throughout the Midwest. Jared and his wife Jamie currently reside in Clear Lake, IA.
