Luke Lynch

Senior Community Engagement Officer, United Way of Central Iowa

Luke serves as the Senior Community Engagement Officer at United Way of Central Iowa, where he helps convene community coalitions around issues such as food, housing, transportation, re-entry, and youth gun violence. Luke also participates in coalitions convened by local government and nonprofit organizations, including the City of Des Moines’ Food Security Task Force, Community Land Trust Advisory Committee, and Pleasant Hill’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. Beyond these coalitions, Luke oversees United Way’s decades-long relationship with the South Central Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO.

Prior to his time at United Way, Luke served as the director of development at the Iowa Coalition against Domestic Violence and in various roles in the Washington, D.C. and Dubuque offices of Senator Tom Harkin.
