Mark Winne - Regional Food System Working Group Meeting

The Regional Food System Working Group is excited to welcome Mark Winne to the November RFSWG meeting. Mark Winne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience developing innovative food policies. Mark Winne has worked for 40 years as a community food activist, writer, and trainer. Winne has dedicated his professional life and writing to enabling people to find solutions to their own food problems as well as those that face their communities and the world.

Attendees will spend the morning learning from Mark and the afternoon getting to work! Strategic conversations will be facilitated to apply what we learned to the Iowa food system. More information about the afternoon strategic conversations coming soon.

Event cost includes breakfast and lunch.

Creating a healthy, vibrant, sustainable food system in Iowa requires all of us to work together to be successful. The Regional Food System Working Group of Iowa maximizes the potential for community-based, economically sustainable and environmentally and socially responsible food enterprises by supporting education, conducting research and facilitating partnership. Representatives from groups across Iowa meet quarterly to discuss and coordinate efforts to build a more vibrant regional food system by assessment/mapping; community capacity-building; evaluation; networking; and, professional development/training.
