The Hunger Summit will gather several hundred leaders from across Iowa representing community organizations, business and industry, state and local government, social agencies, churches and religious communities, schools and universities, and other groups that lead or participate in projects to confront hunger. If you are interested in participating, please visit the event registration page.

The Iowa Hunger Summit co-sponsors and major partners include The World Food Prize, the Alliance to End Hunger, Iowa State University Extension, and the Iowa Farm Bureau.

The Hunger Summit also builds on the foundation of partnerships with and among the Des Moines Jewish Federation, Church World Service, Foods Resource Bank, Rotary clubs across the state, the Iowa Department of Human Services, America’s Second Harvest, Bread for the World, Feeding America, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, Meals from the Heartland, the Harvest Initiative, the United Nations Foundation, Friends of the World Food Program, and numerous Iowa organizations.

The goal of the World Food Prize is to hold “the most significant observance of World Food Day anywhere around the globe.” The Iowa Hunger Summit is a major part of that effort toward increasing awareness among Iowans of the most relevant, cutting-edge, and urgent topics relating to food and hunger in the world.
